Villagers Burnt Seven Allegedly "WITCHES" Alive

Seven women alleged of being witch were set ablaze and burnt to death by the angry villagers of of Murufiti, Tanzania, Africa.

Five of those killed were aged over 60 while the other two were aged over 40. Horrible.They allegedly witches were rounded up before hacking at them with machetes and setting them ablaze.

The son of one of the deceased said, “When I returned home in the evening, I found the body of my mother lying 10 metres away from our house, while the body of my father was burnt inside the house. They will appear in court to face murder charges.”

Belief in black magic remains strong in parts of Tanzania, with many people blaming witchcraft for misfortunes such as infertility, poverty and failure in business. The country’s Legal and Human Rights Centre estimates as many as 500 “witches” – many of them elderly women or albinos – are lynched every year.
