Mali First Ebola Case Confirmed ++ Latest Hope On Ebola Cure

Ebola virus is really a traveler as it has had its way to Mali. A 2 year-old girl who brought by relatives from neighbuoring Guinea to Mali has been confirmed positive to the deadly Ebola Virus.


Her mother allegedly died in Guinea and everybody she(the girl) has come in contact are already isolated to be quarantined as the Mali Government is trying to contain the virus from spreading.

More than 4,800 people have died of Ebola - mainly in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone - since March. 443 health workers have contracted Ebola, of whom 244 have died.


Mortality rate is increasing everday and there is no known cure but according to BBC:


international team of scientists has been set up to determine the effectiveness of using the blood of Ebola survivors as a treatment.


It is hoped the antibodies used by the immune system to fight Ebola can be transferred from a survivor to a patient. The study will start in Guinea.


Separately, the World Health Organization (WHO) has already identified at least two experimental vaccines which it believes could be promising.
